Well….here’s a peak at the beginning of the living room re-do! Here’s what you have to do:
1. Ignore the whimsical painted furniture on the right–Handsome is making a bookshelf to match the one on the left and we are painting it with chalk paint. {Hopefully this summer. <Handsome, are you reading this?:)>}
2. Don’t notice that we haven’t yet cleaned out the fireplace—we use it A LOT!
3. “Pay no attention to the man behind the green curtain…….” You know, just focus on the fireplace area right now—it’s the start of great things to come!
It’s very hard to take pics in this room—we have huge windows on one wall, which cast all kinds of crazy shadows when I try to take pics.
Here’s the fireplace BEFORE looking dark and dreary:
And here totally naked….feeling very self-conscious!
Putting the new mantel in place! This mantel is over 100 years old—late 1800’s. L.O.V.E. it! And, can you believe it was a wonderful GIFT from a church here in town that used it in their coffee shop–and now they do not need it! WOW! This gift was a Godwink. I will not even begin to tell you the value of it. I’m blessed. humbled. excited. And the clock? I found it a couple of weeks ago. My fabulous kids bought it for me as a gift of thanks for being a great homeschool teacher! WOW! I’m blessed. humbled. excited. undeserving, but accepting.
And here is the all-put-together new fireplace area of the living room. Can you see it? Can you get the picture? Can you see where we are headed?
Hope your Monday is off to a great start!
