Window {Frame}

Handsome recently moved to a new office at work.  He kept telling us that it was great, except it didn’t have a window.  ugh!

We have been collecting old windows for a few years now—Handsome wants to make me a greenhouse out of them!  Woohoo!  They are all stacked behind the shed, waiting for enough to collect so he can start his project.

My son had a great idea—-he thought we could take one of the windows and make a fun office ‘window’ for Father’s Day.  It turned out great!  Now Handsome has a ‘window’ in his office! 🙂 This is a super easy project!

Here’s what you need:

~ an old {or new} window

~ fun craft paper {this will be your ‘mat’}

~  spray paint

~ extra scrap paper

~ tape

Here’s how ya do it:

1.  {We were in a hurry—so we put the pics in before we spray painted. You can make this the last step if you’d like}  Cut craft paper the size of each window pane.

2.  Center a picture onto each piece of craft  paper and secure with tape or a glue stick

3.  Put each picture into a pane and tape the back to secure.

4.  Cover the front of each pane with a piece of scrap paper cut to size. {This protects the pane as you spray paint the window frame.}

5.  Take off any hardware before you paint.

6.  Spray paint your window in your color choice—Handsome’s office is mostly a black and brown color scheme–we thought black would be striking on the wall. Depending on the look you want—it will take 1 or 2 coats.

7. Once paint is dry put any hardware back on and install picture hanging hardware on the back. {This usually consists of screw eyes and cable.}

8.  Taaaaaaahhhhhhhhhdddaaaaahhhhhhh! Handsome can now look out his office ‘window’ and see his favorite scenery! {hee!hee!}

This project took us less than 1 hour!  Then we slid it under my son’s bed to hide it.

By the way, Handsome loved it! 🙂
