31 Days {Day 3} What’s the Fragrance of Your Home?

I am a nut for fragrances.  They can be natural or not.  I love the smell of a wood fire, a pine forest, and flowers—-I also love Coco Chanel, Yankee Candles, Shower Gels, powders………and, of course, a great pot pourri.

As I have had fun getting out my favorite fall fragrant candles and pot pourri—it had me thinking of the true fragrance of our home.  What is it?  Is it hurried busy-ness, discontentment–lacking peace? Does my family feel like our home is a soft place to land–or one with prickles?  Are people ministered to in a warm place here, or is it cold and uninviting? Does my family and those that visit feel the love when they are here?  What is the TRUE fragrance of our cottage here in the oaks? This fragrance is created by our priorities, the words spoken, the attitudes, the treatment of each other, and what we choose to hold dear. It is far more powerful than any candle, pot pourri, or room spray—-and cannot be masked with any of these either.

Today I hope to inspire you to ponder what fragrances your home—the TRUE fragrance.  As you light candles or put out pot pourri—-let it be a reminder to keep a check on that fragrance.

This fall I have discovered a new candle that I have been enjoying for fall…..at Bath & Body Works.  It’s called Creamy Pumpkin.

Today I am Thankful For:

~ a loving home

~ the wonderful smells of autumn

~ the crisp autumn air that has finally arrived!

~ woodsmoke

~ fun memories made with family

~ deep blue autumn skies

Happy Monday~

  1. The fragrance of our home at this time is grief. We lost a beloved member of our family last week. Although he was a four-legged friend, we miss him terribly. Typically our fragrance is love, a small family of four, not always seeing eye-to-eye but giving, which is the truest definition of love.

My favorite candle fragrance is Pumpkin Spice. I must try this Creamy Pumpkin.

Thank you for inspiring my heart today.

I’m so sorry about your loss. I know this is a hard time; but with love as the fragrance of your home I know you all will grow through this. Prayers and blessings your way…….

  2. I haven’t been to bath and body since early summer. Now I have to go there and try this scent. Right now I my house smells like mulled cider melting blocks along with the real harvest pumpkin spice bars I just made. 😉

Love to hear from you guys.......
