Autumn Inspiration {Day 11} ::: Tip #1

During October I usually start pittling around with small fix-ups, clean-ups, etc.—getting prepared for Thanksgiving and Christmas.  This is my favorite time of year—so I don’t like to try to cram a lot in, rushing around like a chicken with my head cut off.  {In other words—this is not a stressful preparation–just noticing little things that can be done so the fun holiday season can be enjoyed.}

Little things I do during October?  Patch wall paint that has been bumped and nicked, spot clean dining room chair cushions, make Christmas party punch and freeze it, begin purchasing non-perishable food items that will be used for baking, etc.  No big deal—but wonderful to have done once Thanksgiving rolls around.  We have quite a few parties and gatherings here between mid-November and New Years; and it is important to me to totally enjoy them and the reason we have them: spending time with family and friends that we don’t get to see very often.

SO, here is a quick tip for you today—-the easy way I clean our linen dining room chair cushions.  I made these cushions a couple of years ago—they are linen and I hand-painted numbers that are special to us on each one. {I’ll share about them in a later post. :)}

Get ready for this long list of what you will need to accomplish this grand task…..ready…..here it is:

You will need:

1.  One SHOUT Wipe & Go towelette.

Now that you made it through the list—

Stained chair cushions before:

Here’s how ya do it:

1.  Open the towelette

2.  Rub on each spot—make sure you rub in both directions:  vertically and horizontally–until stain is gone

3.  Enjoy your stain-free chair cushion

Well, I hope I haven’t worn you out with this “tutorial”!

This procedure has removed every kind of stain imaginable—juices, sauces, chocolate, etc.  We have LOTS of teens and tweens here weekly, so our cushions get lots of wear and tear.  By doing this periodically they actually look brand new.  Love it!  I just keep a box of these wonderful towelettes in the kitchen ready to go.

I hope to inspire you today to do a few little things around your home so they won’t be hanging over your head during the holidays!

Blessings~
