Christmas Mantel……

This is the first year in the 16 years we have lived here that we have had a mantel!

In the past here is what our hearth area looked like at Christmas:

This year we had fun putting some of our favorite items across the new mantel.

I’m still not quite finished…tomorrow we are adding greenery all over the house; and the mantel will definitely gets lots!

But here it is this year so far…..

In pics this room looks so dark and drab….but it isn’t.  Hmmm….not sure how to fix that.

I love the little ticking pillow and antique chocolate mold that I purchased at Luckett’s this autumn.

The little green, felt deer were my aunt’s….they are from the 1950’s.  We use them in a different place each year.

I’m off to continue getting ready for our big party this weekend.  Lots of dust to dust and greenery to put!

Happy Tuesday~

  1. Beautiful!!! Love the big clock. I’m kind of a clock nut… I just moved to the east coast and can’t wait to make a trip to Luckett’s. Just love your blog. I’ll be back.

    • Thanks, Erin! Luckett’s is truly a treat….if you are ever anywhere near northern VA, you will have to make a stop! 🙂 We are in NC, but it is worth the trip.

  2. I love your mantle area – the brick, that gorgeous mantle and the big clock! Looks so pretty all dressed up for Christmas!
Hope you have a wonderful holiday season!

Love to hear from you guys.......
